Jamie Ellis Pasquale (b. 1988, United kingdom) is visual Artist who was initially drawn to painting from a young age through his interest in vinyl cover art and urban exploration, two early passions that he became involved in from a young age. He has worked commercially in the fields of Design and Photography since 2007, producing logotypes, typographic work, posters and murals.
Since 2017 his main focus of inquiry has involved dealing with the Painted form, where he creates semi autobiographical works based around culture and folktales. Also, geographically influenced works expressing styles containing both non representational abstracted elements. Paired alongside a classically, high renaissaance influenced yet contemporary mode of painting. Expounding emotions that question the nature of reality and imagination through a naturalistic depiction of elements, and the experimental materiality of paint in both two and three dimensions.
His work brings together an oeuvre that is influenced by Art of 18th and 19th century Italian mannerists, work of the Washington Colour School and the pure nature of the North Amercian Trancendental artists, through this wide array of influences he brings together an opus that optimizes dreamlike hues of purple oche’s, violet hematite, alizarin crimson and spectacular shades of rose., he hopes that through his art he can become a beacon for other young BIPOC Artists engaging discussion around race and representation in the art world.
